The browser game on this site
Everything below runs on the play page with no install, no account and no in-app purchases.
- 30 levels in three tiers. Levels 1–10 use three or four colours with two spare bottles, 11–20 use five or six, and 21–30 use seven or eight with a single spare bottle.
- Every level verified solvable. Boards are generated from a fixed seed and then run through a solver. If the solver cannot finish a board, it is discarded before you ever see it.
- Fixed levels, so guides match. Level 22 is the same board for everyone, which is what makes the written walkthroughs accurate.
- Unlimited undo within a level. Step back as far as you need.
- Hints from a real solver. The hint is the first move of a genuine solution from your current position — and if the position is unsolvable, it says so.
- One extra bottle per level. A deliberate escape hatch rather than a purchase.
- Restart at any time. Rebuilds the same level cleanly.
- Progress saved on your device. Cleared levels are remembered in your browser's local storage. No sign-up, nothing sent to a server.
- Keyboard and screen-reader support. Each bottle is a real button with a label describing its contents, and the status line under the board announces what happened.
- No timer, no ads inside the game area. Nothing is placed where it could be mistaken for a game control.
What it deliberately does not have
- No coins, shop, spin wheel or reward loop — this is a puzzle, not an economy.
- No accounts or cloud saves.
- No thousands of levels. Thirty checked boards are enough to learn on.
The Android app by Galaxy Studio
Galaxy Studio, which operates this site, also publishes a separate Water Sort Puzzle app for Android. It is a different, much larger product with its own level set, bottle designs and reward features. Because store listings change, we do not restate its level counts or features here — the current details are on its Google Play listing.
Which should you use?
If you want to play right now, or you are following one of our guides, use the browser game. If you want a long-running game on an Android phone with progression and customisation, look at the app. Nothing on this site requires you to install anything.
Technical notes
- Works in current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge on Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux.
- The game code is loaded only on the play page, so the guide pages stay light.
- Touch targets are at least 44 pixels, and the board reflows into rows on narrow screens.
- Animation is reduced automatically if your device is set to prefer reduced motion.
